Power Adhesives Tecbond 420 General-Purpose Spray Hot Melt Glue Slugs
Designed for spray-based assembly processes, Tecbond 420 is a polyolefin hot melt adhesive commonly used in applications where controlled working time and material protection are critical. Supplied in 1 3/4" (43 mm) glue slug form, it is frequently selected for mattress production and HVAC assembly due to its ability to bond plastics (excluding PE), foam, fabric, and bubble film. The formulation provides an open time of approximately three minutes, allowing components to be positioned accurately before final compression.
Rapid cooling helps minimize heat transfer to sensitive substrates when Tecbond 420 is applied, supporting consistent results in foam- and film-based assemblies. Spray application delivers broader adhesive coverage than traditional bead patterns, while the material can still be extruded as a controlled bead when precision placement is required. Designed for efficient production workflows, Tecbond 420 carries UL 2395 approval for securing thermal insulation and can replace mechanical fasteners such as nails and tacks in carpet and skirting board installation.
