The TEC 6100 Hot Melt Gun is pretty awesome. All you need is a air compressor and electric and you are good to go. This glue gun should be operated around 120 psi. This glue gun is similar to 3M Polygun II pneumatic glue gun, the biggest difference is the size of the glue sticks. The TEC 6100 takes 1 3/4" glue slugs, where as the Polygun II uses 1" x 3" glue slugs. Now, one advantage to the 1 3/4" glue slugs is that we have multiple manufacturers that sell this size.

3M has rigged the game a little when it comes to using their Scotch Weld Glue Sticks. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and only work in 3M guns locking you into a product unless you are willing to purchase a new, non-3M, glue gun. Within the 3M line of products, finding the correct glue sticks to match your 3M Applicator (glue gun) can be a bit of a struggle. The key factors you need to know when selecting your glue sticks are the size and temperature that match your gun. If you are using a LT (Low Temperature) Applicator it needs to be used with LM (Low Melt) adhesive.
Check out our quick reference guide below for what 3M glue sticks your 3M Applicator needs.
3M Applicator (Glue Gun): (adhesive size & temperature)
Low Temperature Glue Guns
Standard Temperature Glue Guns
Multi-Temperature Glue Gun
For example, if I am using my 3M Scotch-Weld Hot Melt Applicator LT I need to purchase adhesive size TC (5/8 x 2) that are LM (Low Melt). The products offered in TC and LM are 3755LM, 3762LM, 3792LM, 3798LM. If I am using my 3M Scotch-Weld Hot Melt Applicator AE II I would need size AE (1/2 x 12). The AE II glue gun allows you to use any standard 1/2" or 7/16" glue sticks.
*An exception is 3M Scotch-Weld Hot Melt Applicator EC, which can work with both low melt (LM) and standard hot melt, so I could use either temperature adhesive as long as it is size Q (5/8 x 8). The EC applicator from 3M has 5 different temperature modules check out the information below for the hot melt sticks you can use with each temperature module. 3M Scotch Weld Standard and Low Melt Q & LMQ series hot melt sticks (5/8" X 8") Temperature Module 1: 3762 LMQ, 3776 LMQ, 3792 LMQ Temperature Module 2: 3762 LMQ, 3776 LMQ, 3792 LMQ Temperature Module 3: 3762 Q Temperature Module 4: 3738 Q, 3747 Q, 3748 Q, 3748 V-O Q, 3764 Q, 3792 Q Temperature Module 5: 3731 Q, 3779 Q, 3789 Q

The Ad Tech like many hot melt glue guns has minimal dripping from the nozzle. However, the dripping amount can be different due to the type of hot melt sticks you are using and their viscosity.
The PRO 200 is a great value for the price. It is constantly a top seller on Hotmelt.com and perfect for numerous types of hot melt applications. The Champ 3 is a bulk dispensing glue gun, which is a major advantage for this hot melt gun. Glue Machinery's Champ 3 bulk hot melt gun melts chips, pellets and pillows. Since, the Champ 3 uses bulk hot melt, it can reduce cost of production, since bulk is generally less expensive than hot melt sticks. This industrial glue gun is easy to use and perfect for numerous applications; some are packaging, bookbinding and even golf club customization.
The Champ 3 uses bulk hot melt, but doesn't require you to have big cumbersome bulk hot melt tanks, hoses, or hand guns. The hot melt reservoir holds 5 ounces of hot melt. Each trigger pull from the Champ 3 gives you 4.1 Grams of hot melt. Glue Machinery's Champ 3 can apply 7 cubic inches of hot melt without having to refill. The Champ 3 also features a drip free dispensing nozzle. Changing a nozzle is a piece of cake on the Champ 3 and there are a variety of nozzle options. We like that the Champ 3 dispenses bulk hot melt, but isn't bulky! This bulk hot melt is a slender handgun only weighing 1.8 pounds.
This bulk hot melt handgun only has a melt rate of 1 pound per hour. We like that it uses bulk hot melt, but seriously one pound per hour is a drag. Another, thing that we have discovered when using the Champ 3 is that it takes quite some time for the gun to cool down after use. Not to mention it takes a good ten minutes for it to heat up.
We like the Champ 3 by Glue Machinery, but it does have some draw backs. We love that this is a lightweight, versatile glue gun that uses bulk hot melt. Our biggest issue is that the slow warm up time and low output per hour.
If you have any additional questions about Glue Machinery's Champ 3 don't hesitate to give us a call 877.933.3343 or use our handy contact us form!

The Surebonder PRO2-450 makes it easy to use, it features an ergonomic rubber handle, stroke adjustment, and an on/off switch. The PRO2-450 is not hard to hold and can deliver 10 pounds of hot melt per hour! One of the best features of the Pro2-450 glue gun is that it has an adjustable thermostat. Easily, change the temperature to correspond with your low melt or hot melt! We definitely love using this gun and it's perfect for many industrial uses. The gun also, comes with an extra insulated nozzle, plus you can buy additional nozzle types to fit your application.
We don't like the extended metal stand. It works great when the gun is stationary, but the stand gets in the way during use. However, it is easily removable. There is another stand option available they have the short traditional metal stand that can clip in right by the nozzle. This stand isn't as sturdy, but allows you to easily use the PRO2-450 industrial glue gun when attached.
We think that Surebonder's PRO2-450 industrial glue gun is basically a beefed up 5/8" version of Power Adhesives' TEC 820 glue gun. The PRO2-450 does cost about double in comparison to the TEC 820 adjustable temperature glue gun, but it also almost doubles the output of hot melt per hour. We definitely love the style of this industrial hot melt gun taking 5/8' glue sticks, yet a high output and it doesn't need an air compressor. All the almost all features of the PRO2-450 are a "win" in our book, the only exception being the heavy duty stand.

The TEC 6300 Pneumatic Hot Melt Gun is truly impressive. This heavy duty hot melt gun is ideal for heat sensitive materials. It has the ability to lay a bead or spray. This hot melt gun has an adjustment knob to help you control the spray pattern.
The TEC 6300 a pneumatic spray hot melt gun is easy to get ready to go. You do need to have an air compressor to use this gun, which is a slight bummer but we think it's worth it. Plug the TEC 6300 into the compressor and then plug it into the wall. The gun takes about 10 minutes to warm up and then you are good to go.
The TEC 6300 is a beast, no joke that's what we are going to start calling it. This pneumatic spray hot melt gun weighs 3.1 lbs which is not too bad for what this heavy duty gun can do. Turning out about 9.2 pounds per hour the TEC 6300 is ideal for demanding applications.
We tried it on foam and fabric--we didn't have any melting!
The TEC 6300 looks a bit overwhelming at first, but to our shock it was actually quite easy to use. We loved the using this spray gun. It made it so easy to cover a large area in no time. Since this extraordinary hot melt gun covers materials so quickly and evenly there is less hot melt wasted. The TEC 6300 is perfect for using on heat sensitive materials like foam and fabric.

Today we tested the top three hot melt glue guns for light industrial activities, 3M's Polygun AE II, Ad Tech's PRO 200, and Power Adhesives' TEC 805. These light industrial hot melt guns are priced between $49-$65. All three hot glue guns are similar in weight, size and have 4 finger triggers making them easy to use. The 4 finger trigger also helps you avoid hand fatigue for extended periods of use. These glue guns are suitable for light industrial work, which is a step higher than hobby and craft, but not ideal for all day use. We like that all of these guns can be further customized for your applications by changing nozzles. These light industrial glue guns are more durable than the standard glue guns you can buy at your local craft or hardware store and offer a significant performance upgrade as well.
We were disappointed in our testing of the Polygun AE II glue gun. The 3M AE II polygun has an output of 2 pounds per hour, but this 3M applicator drips excessively. Almost all glue guns display some amount of drip, which is why you should never place them idle on carpet or a heat sensitive surface, but the 3M AE II leaked a lot more than most. In our trigger pull test it was beat out by both the PRO 200 and the TEC 805.
The AE II hot melt gun does feature an indicator light let's you know when the applicator is ready. It also features a longer power cord than the other 2 guns we tested, which gives you a bit more mobility.
The PRO 200 is at the bottom of the price range for these 3 light industrial guns, but it did fair quite well in our testing. It beats out 3M's Polygun AE II as it only has an medium amount of dripping from the nozzle while it's idle. Also in our trigger pull test the PRO 200 made it farther than the AE II. This glue gun also has a power indicator light. We definitely think this glue gun is a good one, but it fell a bit short in comparison to the TEC 805.
The Pro 200 performed adequately but we would have liked to see some more features that set it apart from a craft glue gun. It will definitely outperform entry level guns but doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles.
The TEC 805 is the newest glue gun to the Power lineup and offers many features of the more expensive (and recently discontinued) TEC 810 which has been updated to the TEC 820. The Power 805 gun takes the light industrial glue guns to a whole new level as far as we are concerned. This gun is a bargain--at only $54 you get a whole lot of bang for you buck. Featuring an on/off switch and a trigger adjustment knob that allows you to control the output. When the hot melt gun is idle the dripping is almost zero. And one of the very unique features of the TEC 805 glue gun is that it is available in a 5/8" version increasing output volume and making it the most cost effective 5/8" glue gun on the market.
The TEC 805 was a little bit larger than the Pro 200 or 3M AE II but it was no heavier so we don't see extended use being any type of issue.
All the way around we like that this gun has added features that both the AE II and the PRO 200 do not offer and comes in at a very similar price point. The minimal drip and trigger extender allowing for almost double output per trigger pull sealed the deal. You can find all three guns in stock at Hotmelt.com. Feel free to call one of our hot melt experts to discuss these guns or any of the hotmelt.com products.
